Peter Anton (born 1963 in New Haven, Connecticut) is an American artist and sculptor. His primary subject matter is food with an emphasis on chocolates and other sweets. Often referred to as "Candy Warhol," Anton creates giant realistic sculptures and is best known for his "bigger than life" boxed chocolates. Boxes of chocolates, danish and ice cream pops are rendered as giant sculptures , using wood, wire, paint and plaster. Mr. Anton, whose works are always inspired by food, interjects a touch of whimsy. Some of the chocolates in the boxes are missing or have been nibbled, with evident tooth marks. The ice cream pops are half-eaten.
